::Sinopsis::
Cuatro meses después del terrible accidente que mató a sus padres, Elena Gilbert, una adolescente de 17 años, y su hermano Jeremy, siguen intentando salir adelante en sus vidas. Elena siempre ha sido la estudiante estrella, guapa, popular e involucrada en la escuela y sus amigos, pero ahora se encuentra luchando para ocultarle su tristeza al mundo.
El año escolar comienza y Elena y sus amigos quedan fascinados con un nuevo, guapo y misterioso estudiante, Stefan Salvatore. Stefan y Elena son inmediatamente atraídos el uno por el otro y Elena no tiene la manera de saber que Stefan es un vampiro que intenta vivir en paz entre humanos, mientras que su hermano Damon es la personificación del vampiro violento y brutal. Ahora estos dos hermanos vampiros, uno bueno y otro malo, entran en guerra por el alma de Elena y la de sus amigos, familiares y vecinos de la pequeña ciudad de Mystic Falls.
